Shape Our Schools' Future: Vote on Middleburgh's $24.9M Budget Proposal This May 21
On May 21, voters in the Middleburgh Central School District will decide on a proposed school budget for the 2024-25 academic year. The budget is set at $24,900,000 and includes a 2.42% increase in spending, or an additional $587,510 from last year. This budget maintains all current educational programs and includes a tax levy increase of 1.50%, amounting to $153,836. Voting will be held at the Senior High School Gym Lobby from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Local SSCS Students Shine at Regional Envirothon Competition
On April 24, 2024, a team of SSCS students took part in the Capital Region Envirothon at the New York State Power Authority’s Visitor Center in Gilboa. The team members, Logan Tessier, Emily Gwoztz, and Angela Gwoztz, were from the SSCS Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter and were led by their advisor, Anne Allen, a secondary science teacher.
Middleburgh's Own Gabrielle Armlin to Represent at National Medical Leaders Congress
Gabrielle Armlin, a junior at Middleburgh Central School, has been chosen as a delegate for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders. This event will be held at the University of Massachusetts Lowell from June 26-28. Armlin is excited about this opportunity, as she is interested in possibly attending this university and exploring different medical fields.
School Schedule Update for April 26: Changes for PreK-12 Students
On April 26, the school schedule will change for students from PreK to 12th grade. Pre-K to 6th-grade students will have a normal day, including regular transportation and breakfast. They will also go on field trips, with details provided by their teachers.
