Warba student receives MSU Moorhead scholarship
Ashley Hamm, Warba, Minn., has received the Helen McNair Warren Education Scholarship for $1,200 from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Ashley is a graduate of Grand Rapids School. Ashley’s parents are Lori and David Hamm. The Helen McNair Warren Scholarship is awarded to full time students pursuing a teaching profession. Minnesota State University Moorhead is a comprehensive regional university offering 128 majors, emphases and options, 12-professional programs, 26 areas of teacher licensure, 40 certificate programs and 15 graduate degrees. AAUW celebrates scholarship recipients
At the May 20 meeting AAUW is celebrating with the recipients of the four scholarships awarded by the branch in 2024. Continuing a long tradition of a scholarship to a non- traditional woman student at Minnesota North, this year’s recipient is Heather Smith, a Practical Nursing student from Bovey. This scholarship was first established at Itasca Community College in 1996. Four scholarships are being awarded through the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation. The U.S. Department of Education (Department) today announced additional steps to support students and their families with the Better FAFSA. The Department is launching a multi-million-dollar program as part of the FAFSA Student Support Strategy to help school districts, state, nonprofits and other public and private organizations with efforts to boost FAFSA completion. Hill City School is looking to strengthen the holistic approach of teaching students
The MnMTSS framework supports teachers to identify any student who might be struggling, either academically or behaviorally through a three-tiered system. The district received a $205,000 grant by the Minnesota Department of Education to hire a MTSS coordinator for the next two years to build capacity of the MTSS framework across all grade levels within the district.
