Shape Your City's Future: Join the Homer Comp Plan Meetings This Week
The update to the Homer Comprehensive Plan is in progress, and residents are encouraged to join the upcoming events this week. The project team will be at the Homer Library Conference Room for open hours on Tuesday, May 14, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Thursday, May 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During these times, community members can learn about the planning process, review progress, and share their ideas.
40th Anniversary: Celebrating Homer and Teshio's Sister-City Bond
In April 1984, the Mayor of Homer, Alaska, and Teshio, Japan, formally established a Sistership Affiliation. This relationship highlights cultural exchanges and mutual benefits across the Pacific, connecting the East with the West. The 40th Anniversary Celebration will continue throughout the summer of 2024.
Shape Our Roads: Join the Kenai Peninsula Safety Action Plan Workshops in May
The Kenai Peninsula Borough, in partnership with the cities of Homer, Kenai, Seldovia, Seward, and Soldotna, has launched a project to improve road safety. This initiative, supported by a grant, aims to create a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan as part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All program. The plan will enhance safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers on borough roads.
