🚧 Extended Bridge Inspection Update on US-165 Southbound near Georgetown 🚧
The time displayed is local to the original 511 traffic site in Louisiana. Residents and commuters in Georgetown, LA, should be advised of an important update to the ongoing bridge inspection activities. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced an extension to the operational hours previously scheduled for Bridge #082200000036910 on US 165 Southbound. The lane closure which began on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, will now continue until Thursday, May 9, 2024. This inspection will take place over LA 1230 and Union Pacific Railroad, approximately a quarter mile north of LA 1230, subject to weather conditions. During the inspection period, which commences at 8:00 AM and is expected to conclude by 3:30 PM, the bridge will be reduced to one lane of traffic. Motorists are assured that a detour will not be necessary as one lane will remain open at all times, ensuring continued flow of traffic through the inspection zone. DOTD urges drivers to exercise caution around the construction site, to be vigilant for the presence of work crews and their equipment, and to drive responsibly to maintain safety. For updates on real-time traffic and road conditions, travelers can utilize the 511 Traveler Information System by dialing 511 and stating the desired route or region.
