Winterguard places third at state championships
The Dripping Springs High School varsity winterguard was awarded the bronze medal in the Scholastic National A Red Round category at the Texas Color Guard Circuit State Championships on Saturday, April 6 at Reed Arena in College Station. Dripping Springs totaled 88.995 points, finishing more than 2.5 points ahead of fourth place Cedar Park. Buda Hays took first place with 89.660 points and Pearland placed second with 89.590 points. The Tigers went undefeated during the regular season with five first-place finishes. They also captured the TCGC Area West SNA Championship to qualify for the state competition. Lacrosse back on track in latest matchups
Coming off a string of four road losses, Dripping Springs High School Lacrosse rebounded in a big way last week to defeat visiting 2023 Class B State Champion Westwood High School and 2023 Class C State Champion Alamo Heights High School. In the Westwood win, Drip Lacrosse’s Senior Attackman Kyle Parker set the single season scoring record. DSHS student-athletes sign letters of intent
Five Dripping Springs High School student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent this week to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. Below is information on each of the signees. Noah Chomout, Lacrosse, Ohio Northern University Noah Chomout is a four-year member of the Dripping Springs High School lacrosse team, playing longstick midfielder and defender for the Tigers. As a senior, he has served as team captain while guiding the squad to a 12-5 record so far this season. Tigers rally, win in final inning against Westlake

The Tigers were trailing the entire game with a score of 1-3 until the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Tigers rallied and scored three runs to win the game and sweep the series. The final at bat for the Tigers was Jack Tyndall and he hit a single with Theo Howard on third base and he made it home to score the winning run. The final score was Tigers 4, Chaps 3.
Lady Tigers win in extra innings
DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Dripping Springs High School Lady Tigers softball team (8-3) hosted the Johnson High School Jaguars (7-5) on Friday, April 5. After extra innings, the final score was Tigers 9, Jags 8. The Tigers were leading most of the game and the Jags scored three runs to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning; the Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh and the game went to extra innings with the game tied at seven runs each. In the top of the eighth inning, the Jags scored one run and they took the lead 8 to 7 and then in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Tigers tied the game at eight runs each, with a runner on second base and a runner at third base. Jai-Lynn Flores was next up to bat and she popped out in deep centerfielder; Tiger Lilly Wearden (No. 14) was on third base and tagged up and ran in for the final score of the game. Senior Haiden Anderson got the win with seven strikeouts, a homerun and three RBIs. The next home game for the Tigers is on April 12 against Westlake High School (6-5).
Tigers compete at 96th Annual Texas Relays

Westlake girls top Lake Travis to advance to Class 6A regional soccer tournament
Westlake girls soccer has had a lot of important wins in the program’s history, and Tuesday night’s performance may rank with the best of them. The Chaps defeated Lake Travis 2-1 in a Class 6A regional quarterfinal at Dripping Springs High School to simultaneously end their rival’s season and advance to their second regional tournament in three years.
