Dayton H.S. Girls Lacrosse Team Concludes Successful Season
SPRINGFIELD, NJ -- The Dayton High School girls lacrosse team wrapped up the second season as a varsity program with a 14-5 record after losing to Rumson-Fair Haven last week in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 1 tournament. Junior Sara Kaesshaefer led Dayton with 53 goals and also had 20 assists, and junior Gianna Guensch totaled 52 goals and 17 assists. Sophomore Lauren O'Brien led the Bulldogs in assists with 28 and also scored 45 goals. Junior Sophie Lafferty finished with 23 goals and eight assists, and freshman Maya Smith scored 22 goals and was first on the team in groundballs with 48 and second in draw controls with 52. Tour of Somerville: N.J.’s biggest bike race whips through soggy streets (PHOTOS)
Bicycle racers from across the world returned to Somerville for the borough’s 79th bicycle tour on Memorial Day, race organizers said. As the oldest continuing bicycle race in the country, the Somerset County annual holiday tradition saw hundreds of amateur and professional cyclists compete in this year’s Tour of Somerville in multiple races for varying age ranges and skill levels.
Electric Eden Raceway: New York’s first electric-powered go-kart ride debuts in Coney Island
BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- New York City’s first electric-powered go-kart ride will be opening this week in Coney Island for the summertime. Luna Park reopened for the season this past March, but its new ride, Electric Eden Raceway, will be debuting this Friday, May 24 at Coney Island. Electric Eden Raceway is New York’s first-ever electric-powered go-kart ride, named after Luna Park’s original name, Electric Eden.
