Upcoming Temporary Closures at Ida Lee Fitness Facilities for Deep Cleaning
The fitness room, group fitness room, and multipurpose room, at Ida Lee Recreation Center, will be closed to the public from Thursday, May 16 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. All other parts of the recreation center, including childcare and the tennis center, will remain open. The closure will allow for a deep cleaning of the fitness room. MURFREESBORO — The Volunteer boys tied for third overall in the team standings at the 2024 TSSAA Class AA Track & Field Championships on Tuesday, May 21, at Middle Tennessee State University’s Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium. In individual events, Hawkins County’s high school contingent produced two state championships and three state runners-up. TUSCULUM — The Elizabethton Cyclones wrecked Volunteer’s first regional baseball appearance since 1995, winning 5-2 in Friday’s opening round at Tusculum’s Pioneer Park to send the Falcons into the losers’ bracket. Leadoff hitter Bryson Rowland went 3 for 4, drove in two runs and scored twice to lead the Cyclones, who got a masterful pitching performance from Rhett Slagle.
