New Restaurant Opens in Cortez
The Cortez Public Library is hosting a presentation on Moab Rock Art with Rory Tyler on Thursday, March 7th at 6 p.m. Mancos School of the West’s next winter workshop is happening on Saturday, March 9 at Mancos Public Library. The class will explore layering, colors, and patterns using a Gelli plate, stains, stencils, paper, and more. Visit the School of the West’s website to register. Min-Tea, a new Vietnamese restaurant with milk tea, boba, and food, had its grand opening and ribbon cutting with the City of Cortez mayor on February 20th in Cortez. Mancos Creative District’s annual, local music event, Mixed in Mancos, is coming up on Saturday, March 2nd. Amy Grogan’s Landscape block print exhibit, called Landscapes from the Heart, will be showing at the Cortez Cultural Center through February 29th. Cortez in Search of Artists for Historic Coloring Book
The City of Cortez is soliciting designs from artists as part of a celebration of Historic Preservation Month. The LOR Foundation and Cortez Retail Enhancement Association have partnered with the City of Cortez in designing a coloring book that highlights historic sites in the Cortez area with artist submissions due on February 20. Cortez Parks and Recreation is currently hiring several full- and part-time positions including events specialist, executive assistant, and lifeguard. Head to Durango January 26th through February 4th for this year’s hippie-themed Snowdown. The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles recently announced the top license plate designs for 2023 with the Blackout plate and Columbine plate topping the historical and specialty plate lists, respectively.
