The Monticello Central School District recently welcomed Ivory Coleman as Director of School Safety and Assistant Principal at Monticello High School. Mr. Coleman brings a robust background in educational leadership, with more than two decades of experience to his new role. He served as Assistant Principal at CIS 339 in the Bronx from 2007 to 2022, where he led the math and science departments, developed and enhanced curricular and extracurricular programs, and fostered a positive school culture. Prior to that, he was a teacher at PS/MS 31 in the Bronx from 2002 to 2007, focusing on developing lessons aligned with state standards and incorporating technology. His career began in school safety supervision, where he managed teams and collaborated with the New York Police Department (NYPD). Ivory holds a Master’s in Building Leadership and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction, expected in 2025. He holds permanent certifications as a School District Administrator and School Administrator/Supervisor.
