Fairmont AD Michael Baker retires after 43 years at the school
According to Chris Stiles of the Robesonian, longtime Fairmont High School teacher, coach, and athletic director Michael Baker is retiring. Baker, a class of 1977 graduate of Fairmont, took a job at the school in 1981 and stayed for 43 years. He was the athletic director for the past 31 years. The Roanoke College alum began his professional career at Fairmont as the JV basketball coach and a science teacher.
