Liberty Center football edges rival Patrick Henry 21-15 in NWOAL play
HAMLER, Ohio — Liberty Center got a major battle from Henry County rival Patrick Henry Friday night, but the visiting Tigers rallied from behind in the closing minutes to escape with a 21-15 Northwest Ohio Athletic League football victory. Senior running back Waylon Rentz closed a 13-play, 60-yard drive on a 5-yard touchdown run with 2:15 remaining to lift Liberty Center (7-0, 4-0 NWOAL) to its 32nd straight regular-season win. “It feels good to be able to battle back after all of that adversity we faced,” Rentz said. “It's a great win and it shows what we're capable of. “We just wanted to keep pounding it down their defense, and we wanted to keep running as hard as we could. We just basically played our game.”
