Tigers Can’t Get Past the Indians in the Semi-Finals
For the third consecutive season the Tiger’s season ended in the District Five Semi-Finals at Southern Fulton. The Indians(19-4) seeded second hosted the third seeded Tigers (16-5) on Thursday afternoon with a trip to the District Championship Game and a berth in the PIAA State Tournament on the line. This would be the third meeting of the year between ICC opponents with Southern Fulton winning the two earlier season games 3-1 and 6-1.
Fannett-Metal Lady Tigers Advance to Round 2 of District 5 Playoffs
In the first round of the District 5 Playoffs, the Lady Tigers defeated Southern Fulton 9-3, led by Kylie Arnold who drove in four runs from two hits, including a triple and a single. Arnold’s triple in the fourth inning brought in three runs, and her single in the third inning scored another. Pitcher Harleigh Detweiler contributed significantly by striking out 12, walking one, and allowing only five hits and three runs, of which only one was earned.
