Locals perused dozens of art studios in the community during the Lake Oswego Open Studio Tour Saturday, Sept. 28. At the event, artists performed demonstrations and sold work at more than 40 locations in West Linn and Lake Oswego. Organizer Ha Austin didn’t have total attendance numbers but said 260 people visited her studio and that other artists reported around 50-160, although some had less than 30 visitors. “The overall impression is that the tour went well. Both artists and customers were happy that we have something like this in our area,” Austin wrote via email.

Lakewood play The Lakewood Theatre Company will explore existential questions surrounding artificial intelligence during its upcoming production of “R.U.R.” from Sept. 13 to Oct. 20 at the Lakewood Center for the Arts. West Linn soliciting art for library community room
The city of West Linn is inviting local artists to apply to have their art displayed at the library. The community room of the West Linn Public Library commonly displays art on a rotating basis. Artists can submit the application by Oct. 31 to have their art displayed in the community room at https://westlinnoregon.gov/library/artists. The library welcomes all mediums but said the gallery is most suitable for pieces that can hang on the walls, though there are a few pedestals for three-dimensional pieces. Those who have had their art displayed at the library previously can apply again after two years.
