Police: Man dead, woman airlifted to hospital after pickup truck crash caused by brake failure
On October 5th, 2024, at 3:10 pm the Idaho State Police and Idaho County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash which occurred near Elk City Summit Rd and Newsome Creek Rd in Idaho County. A 57-year-old male from Nampa was driving a white 2001 Ford F350 which was also occupied by a 67-year-old female and a 41-year-old male. The Ford was traveling westbound on Elk City Summit Rd....

Update on Firefighter Justin Shaw's Recovery After Injury
KAMIAH – On August 10th, Forest Service firefighter Justin Shaw was severely injured while responding to a new wildfire on the Salmon River Ranger District. Shaw was struck by a falling tree during initial attack operations and was quickly airlifted to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, before being transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. Justin is now continuing his recovery at Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado.
