Aces of Trades: Emily Hitchcock's passion for storytelling goes far beyond publishing
NEWARK – She’s living her dream — making books. “As a kid I loved reading, writing — and ‘Star Trek,’” recalled Emily Hitchcock. “My siblings and I grew up without television and a lot of pop culture touchpoints that other people my age have. Whatever knowledge I lacked of the mainstream, my parents made up for by instilling a deep love of reading and learning. I lived at the local library, and I was allowed to read whatever I wanted.”

Library patron returns book that is 93 years overdue
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The staff at Licking County Library in Downtown Newark recently had a book returned to them that was 93 years overdue. Leah Nickell, a circulation supervisor at the library, said she was working at the desk when a patron came into the building to drop off a book that she found. The patron discovered it sitting on a shelf at a family member’s house when she was cleaning and brought it into the library.
