Last month, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit, in partnership with the New Port Richey Police Department, conducted a targeted sting operation, exposing a widespread issue of unlicensed contracting in the community. The operation resulted in the arrest of 20 individuals who were offering to perform contracting services such as electrical work, plumbing, air conditioning, and marine construction—all without the proper licenses.
