SEATTLE — As unseasonably high temperatures bake western Washington going into the weekend, coming with it will be some diminished air quality around the region. Seattle's Air Quality Index (AQI) went from good to moderate on Thursday, where it is expected to remain until Monday per IQ Air's forecasts. Moderate air quality, which is anything between 51-100 on the AQI, means some people in sensitive groups should be cautious with outdoor activity.

New Regulations: High Voltage Safety Measures & AED Accessibility
New regulations will keep Washington workers farther away from high voltage systems and closer to medical aid, the state's Department of Labor & Industries reports. Per House Bill 1542 from state Rep. Dan Bronoske, D-Lakewood, employers who operate and maintain high voltage systems (of 601 volts or over) must keep automated external defibrillator (AEDs) onsite when two or more employees are working near high voltage lines and equipment.
