UCF football game delay: Knights vs. Sam Houston pushed back due to lightning near stadium
ORLANDO — Kickoff for UCF's non-conference home game with Sam Houston was delayed due to inclement weather in the vicinity of FBC Mortgage Stadium and moved to 7:02 p.m. Saturday. According to the school's Fan Experience account on X, UCF was required to wait for a 30-minute window with no lightning strikes within 8 miles of the stadium in order to start the pregame clock and open the stadium bowl. The weather delay started around 4:45 p.m. Kickoff was initially scheduled for 6:30.
