Two men, one female arrested by Freestone County authorities in Streetman
FREESTONE COUNTY, Texas — Three individuals, two male and one female, were arrested in the Freestone County area by authorities Saturday evening. The arrest occurred in the city limits of Streetman after the Freestone County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant with the help of the Wortham Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety.
Plane crash claims life
The Freestone County community is mourning the death of an active member following a plane crash on Friday afternoon, Sept. 20. A t 4:52 p.m., a report of a plane crash with entrapment occurred at the Teague Airport. According to the Teague Volunteer Fire Department, the pilot was extricated from the aircraft and passed on to Emergency Medical Services for transport. Billy Patterson, 69, of Fairfield died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash. Patterson was a very active member of his church, Faith Fellowship Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and flying. Patterson started his career with Texas Oil & Gas in his 20s and retired from Marathon Oil Company. Patterson also wrote and submitted articles to the newspaper about events occurring at his church throughout the years.

MABANK, Texas — Mabank Police are responding to a disturbance in the Spring Creek addition. Officers are currently responding to a disturbance that occurred near the Spring Creek addition in Mabank. A statement from the Mabank Police Department advised residents nearby to avoid the immediate area and remain indoors. Barnes Rd. and Spring Creek Rd. are currently blocked off.
