SHAWNEE COUNTY —Authorities investigating a fatal house fire on Sunday in Topeka have determined the cause of this fire was intentionally set, according to Topeka Fire Department spokesperson Rosie Nichols. The incident is being investigated as a homicide. Law enforcement have not released the name of the victim or reported suspect details. Authorities were still working to contact the family of the victim, according to Nichols earlier this week.

Kansas man jailed for skipping court, drug possession
ATCHISON COUNTY — Law enforcement arrested a Kansas man on Saturday on multiple allegations. Just after 4p.m. Saturday, police took 31-year-old Stacey M. Gorman, Jr., of Atchison into custody in the 600 block Kansas Avenue, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson. He remains jailed on on District and Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear in court and requested charges of inference with law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia.
