With disco balls, tie-dyed clothes and lots of sequins, the 2024 Waunakee Chamber of Commerce annual dinner and auction celebrated the business organization's 45th year on April 4. More than 100 business owners and professionals packed Rex's Innkeeper to bid on prizes, hear live music and learn who won the annual Chamber Awards. They donned headbands, sun glasses, bell bottoms and bling -- before that even became a term -- to embrace the 1970s, when the Chamber was founded by local business owners. The Wild Cardz played music from the era, inviting dancers to the floor, and Erin announced the auction with a number of prizes donated by Chamber members to bid on. The Tribune will report on the Chamber award winners once that list becomes available.

DeForest adopts Deer Management Plan
The DeForest Village Board voted 5-0 in favor of adopting a proposed plan to manage the village’s deer population on Tuesday, March 19. Trustees Brian Taylor and Jim Simpson were absent for the meeting.
