RAHWAY, NJ – The acclaimed Scotch Plains-Fanwood Marching Band joined the Raiders varsity football team for a road game at Rahway on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024. Woman and Dog Struck by Vehicle on Springfield Road
UNION, NJ – A woman and her dog were struck by a vehicle on Springfield Avenue very early Saturday morning.According to Union Fire Chief Greg Ricciardi, the woman was apparently walking her dog at just before 1 a.m. when she and the dog were struck near 2062 Springfield Avenue in Vauxhall.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTERRicciardi said the woman was assessed and transported by Union's Emergency Medical Unit to University Hospital in Newark. He said she was assessed to be in stable condition at that time.Because of the dog’s condition, Union firefighters brought the pet to the emergency animal clinic on Route 22. He said as of transport, the dog appeared to be stable as well.There is currently no additional information available about the accident; the investigation is ongoing. Union Firefighters Battle Attic Fire on Remmos Avenue
UNION, NJ - Union firefighters battled an attic fire on Remmos Avenue Friday night, said Union Fire Chief Greg Ricciardi.Firefighters arrived at 839 Remmos Avenue to find a ‘well-involved’ attic fire. Ricciardi said firefighters brought the fire under control, ventilated the home, and searched the building.
