HANFORD — Issued by the National Weather Service at 7:49 PM PDT on September 6, 2024. Heat Advisory: High Temperatures and Warm Nights Pose Heat Risks. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Hanford has issued a Heat Advisory for much of central California, including areas such as Bakersfield, Fresno, Visalia, Merced, Los Banos, and surrounding communities. The advisory remains in effect until 8 PM PDT Saturday, with daytime highs expected to range from 102 to 107°F. Overnight lows are predicted to stay in the upper 70s, offering minimal relief from the heat and creating a moderate to major heat risk.
