Stony Brook University appoints Kevin H. Gardner as Vice President for Research
Stony Brook University announced today that Kevin H. Gardner, PhD, former Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation at the University of Louisville, has been appointed Vice President for Research. Dr. Gardner will report to university President Maurie McInnis and is expected to join Stony Brook on August 1, 2024.

Local Pride: William Floyd High Girls' Lacrosse Heads to Playoffs Again
The William Floyd High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team has qualified for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year under head coach Nicole Alesi. They finished the regular season with a 12-2 record in Division I, earning the No. 4 seed in the Section XI Division I playoff bracket. They will host the No. 5 seed, Connetquot, at the Lincoln Avenue Sports Complex next Tuesday.
