The Community Fine Arts Center (CFAC) and the Green River Arts Council (GRAC) have announced they are seeking entries for their third annual Sweetwater County WY Plein Air Competition. “En plein air” is French for out of doors and refers to the practice of painting finished artworks out of doors. Painting on location allows artists to capture both emotional and sensory impressions of the scene before them.

An upcoming fishing derby on the Wyoming side of Flaming Gorge will benefit a really great cause for single moms in Green River, Wyoming and beyond. The McKenzie Home Fishing Derby is happening June 1st and 2nd with the support of Ashley National Forest Service and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Teams of 2 to 3 are invited to register and the categories paid out by length will be Brown Trout and Rainbow/Cutthroat Trout, both of which are catch and release. The other category is Lake Trout that are less than 25 inches and will be paid out by average team weight. Half of all entry fees will go towards the McKenzie home project and half is paid back to participants in prizes. The McKenzie home project is aiming to create safe housing for mothers and their children to create lifelong stability and success. Get more details and register through www.theMckenzieHome.org.

GREEN RIVER – A handful of supporters welcomed a two-bike rally travelling through Green River during a rainy Saturday afternoon. The duo was on the tail end of a ride raising funds and awareness related to an incident in Daniel where a wolf was cruelly killed a few months ago.

The Tiffany chandeliers are beautiful, and the signature oyster stew and steak are simply stunning! Sitting in the special booth inside, you'll feel like you're in a movie scene. Outside, the cozy holiday decorations of Georgetown add to the ambiance, making for a fantastic experience! L'ardente Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ P4/P6 Their lasagna is to die for. The 40 Layer Lasagna lives up to its name and is reportedly President Obama’s favorite. The interior design is a bit underwhelming, sitting in the Dining room the lighting is so dim it makes you question life, and it's as noisy as a bar. The wine selection is average, and I don’t believe it’s Michelin-worthy, haha. The truffle goose liver dumplings are small but crafted with care. The funghi pizza isn’t bad either. Other dishes didn’t leave much of an impression, but for the goose liver dumplings and lasagna, it’s worth a second visit! Recommended Menu: 🦆 Duck Hunt 🍝 Lasagna 🐟 Whole Grilled Branzino 💰 Average cost $100 3. Old Ebbitt Grill Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ P7/P9 The exterior decorations are unmissably ostentatious! Just a block from the White House, this place is truly the legendary White House dining room. The restaurant is huge, with different sections featuring different styles, seemingly expanded multiple times.
