Albany man sentenced in 2023 assault weapon case
An Albany was sentenced to two consecutive terms of 15 years for weapon possession charges on Wednesday. The Albany County District Attorney's Office said James Ford, 52, was convicted of two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Concert Preview: Megadeth – “Destroy All Enemies Tour” this week at MVP Arena
Grammy Award winning Heavy Metal Legends Megadeth are bringing their "Destroy All Enemies" tour to Albany's MVP Arena on Tuesday September 10, 2024 at 6:30PM. Dave Mustaine and company will be bringing along fellow metal titans, Mudvayne and All That Remains to open the show. Megadeth is touring in support of their sixteenth studio album 2022's "The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!" There will be something for fans from all eras of Megadeth's nearly forty year career. During recent dates on the tour, Mustaine has pulled out tracks from ten of the sixteen studio albums. They have even dusted off some deep cuts, playing "Washington is Next" from 2007's United Abominations for the first time since 2009 just the other night.
How Special Was This 2024 Season For The Tri City Valleycats?
The 2024 campaign for the Tri City Valleycats was a good one as they made their first playoff appearance in six years since 2018. First year manager Greg Tagert did an excellent job as all of his players love him and would run through a wall for him. I was live at Joe Bruno Stadium with WNYT NewsChannel 13 five times this season and each time the crowd was awesome and the team played and competed very hard. The front office did another terrific job as the atmosphere was always loud and fun. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

Reach Out Program To Honor College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York
After 103 years of academia, The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York closed down. The board of trustees voted on the afternoon of Thursday, November 30th, 2023 to shut down the school following graduation of the 2023-2024 school year on May 11th, 2024. The news of the shutdown left many in New York heartbroken. Many St. Rose graduates still live in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley, and were effected deeply by the news.
