The National Individual Events Tournament of Champions (NIETOC) brought together the nation’s best and brightest students in Oral Interpretation and Public Address categories to compete in a national tournament which took place at Bellevue West High School in Bellevue, Neb. The sun shined on the players at Target Field on May 16 as if both the Hopkins and Rogers baseball teams were being blessed by the baseball gods. In this battle between two teams that share the nickname Royals, Rogers (11-6, 10-1) emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over Hopkins (6-12, 4-6).
