Morning Crash Blocks Two Lanes on Route 287 Exit Ramp in Piscataway

Guilty of road rage: NJ driver with young kids fired gun at car
A 41-year-old Middlesex County father has been convicted of charges after a road rage incident in which he fired shots at another driver’s car. Gerald Chapman, of Highland Park, was found guilty by a Somerset County jury of second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree hindering apprehension.

SHORT HILLS, NJ — The Millburn Police Department reported that there were two separate shoplifting incidents at Macy’s in the second half of September in which thieves took a total of almost $3,500 in merchandise. According to Police Captain Mark Azzopardi, on September 12, 2024, Millburn Police responded to Macy’s in the Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Macy’s associate reported that two men from Newark concealed a total of $1,647.14 of merchandise and left the store without paying. Police officers were able to locate them and placed them under arrest, charging them with shoplifting. At midnight on Monday, Sept. 2, police responded to Bergen Street and Chadwick Avenue and found Darryl Craft, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. Craft was rushed to University Hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead, authorities said.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, officers responded to the Dollar Tree on Orlando Drive, Raritan police said. A woman said a man, later identified as Dylan Wilson, followed her around the tore and then walked by and intentionally made contact with her buttocks, police said. This was later confirmed by surveillance footage, police said.
