Kentucky Derby winning jockey honored with his own day in Shelbyville, his hometown
SHELBYVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Derby 150 was one for the history books and now, the winning jockey will be cemented in history as well. Jockey Brian Hernandez Jr., was honored Monday by his hometown of Shelbyville, just outside of Louisville where he won the Derby this year riding Mystik Dan.

Spencer County boys, CAL girls win regional track titles; See who's headed to 2A state
The Spencer County boys and Christian Academy girls won titles Tuesday in the Class 2A, Region Three Track and Field Championships at Shelby County High School. Spencer County won the boys title with 144 points and was followed by Shelby County (121.5) and Christian Academy (103.5). Christian Academy won the girls crown with 200 points and was followed by Shelby County (169) and Spencer County (75).
Trinity boys, Oldham girls win regional track titles; See who's headed to 3A state meet
The Trinity High School boys and Oldham County girls track and field teams won titles Monday at the Class 3A, Region Four Track and Field Championships at Collins High School. Trinity won the boys crown with 167 points and was followed by Oldham County (86.5) and North Oldham (70.5). Oldham County took the girls title with 101 points and was followed by North Oldham (80) and Assumption (79.5).
