Man from McPherson avoids injury in 2-vehicle crash
FINNEY COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Finney County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Kia Soul driven by Debra Dea Colburn, 69, Garden City, stopped at a stop sign for Kansas 156 facing south on 16 mile road. A 2022 Chevy truck driven by Jonathan Evan Ponder of McPherson, was eastbound passing a semi on Kansas 156.
SPD arrest suspect in vehicle burglaries, stolen firearm
The Salina Police Department (SPD) arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries, including the theft of a firearm. SPD Cpt. James Feldman said officers were first called to the 400 block of Allwood Drive around 6:30 a.m. Monday after a 32-year-old male reported that his unlocked 2015 Chevy Silverado had been entered.
Salina man injured in motorcycle-deer collision
A 27-year-old Salina man was injured after his motorcycle collided with a deer west of Salina on Sunday evening, according to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan. At approximately 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, a motorcyclist was riding his blue 2007 Honda 1300 motorcycle westbound on Old 40, about four-tenths of a mile west of Amos Road, when a deer suddenly jumped out from the ditch.
