Local Achievements Highlighted at Victoria College's PTA Program Graduation
Nine students have graduated from Victoria College's Physical Therapist Assistant Program as of Spring 2024. The graduation ceremony included students from Weimar, Port Lavaca, Victoria, League City, and Halletsville. During the ceremony, three students received special awards. Avery Milner won the Dr. Laura Crandall Excellence & Academic Award, Hannah Davis received the Leadership Award, and Rebecca Leist was given the Most Inspirational Award. These awards recognize their achievements during their studies. Inez Teen Achieves Early Success: 17-Year-Old Earns College Degree in Instrumentation
Tyler Paul, a 17-year-old homeschooled student from Inez, has earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in instrumentation from Victoria College. He started taking college classes at age 15, aiming to expand his future career options. Tyler balanced his high school and college studies by using his flexible homeschool schedule effectively.
Vanderbilt's Young Mathematicians Triumph: Local 3rd Graders Head to State Tournament
Mrs. Vance’s 3rd grade class from Vanderbilt participated in the NYS Education Department’s "First in Math" Virtual Regional Tournament. Congratulations to Chase Ackerman, Alexander Belle and Benjamin Levy, who earned the title of Regional Champions and will compete as a team in the Statewide Mathematics Tournament in Albany! Both teams finish the season on Thursday against teams they should have no problem defeating. If the tie does happen, it has been decided district seeding will be determined by a coin flip.
