A New Jersey high school baseball has one team up in arms after a controversial call ended a state tournament game between Northern Highlands and Mount Olive on Wednesday. What appeared to be a game-tying three-run home run for Northern Highlands in the top of the seventh was waved off after Mount Olive appealed to the home plate umpire, who ruled the first runner didn’t touch the plate and called him out, NJ.com reported. Phillipsburg School District Advised To Shelter In Place, Then Rescinded Once Deemed Safe
PHILLIPSBURG, NJ - Phillipsburg High School and Phillipsburg Primary School were advised to shelter in place on the morning of May 22, 2024. At approximately 9:45AM, both schools were advised to shelter in place due to an active police investigation, according to school officials, who responded immediately to our request for information. After a short amount of time, it was determined that the shelter in place was no longer needed. Nazareth Academy senior Bridget Olsen was honored at the recent Upper Holmesburg Civic Association meeting. Olsen earned a full, four-year scholarship to Holy Family. She will study nursing.
