Popular Troy Restaurant & Bar Closing Its Doors For Good
A Collar City eatery known for live music will wind down operations this month. There have had a slew of business closings in the Capital Region of late, especially from national chains like LL Lumber, Red Lobster, and Big Lots. But in this instance it is not all bad news as a Troy restaurant and bar should be reappearing soon in a new location and incarnation.
America’s Largest Walmart Is In Upstate NY: See Where!
Every Wal-Mart is pretty huge. But one local superstore is the hugest in the land!. We've all been there. Even after walking into your local Walmart a thousand times, every time you go into that store you probably think to yourself at some point "This place is enormous!" I have...
Spirit Halloween Relaunches Spirit Christmas with 3 New York Locations
I was at the Spirit Halloween in the Colonie Center up in Albany a couple of weekends ago. While I was there, one of the workers was going around in a Michael Myers costume. For the older customers, he would sneak around and try to scare them. For the little kids, he was really cool and would try to come down to their level and give fist pounds and make heart-hands. When I first spotted him, he was hiding in a fortune teller booth. I thought he was an animatronic at first! This dude was cool! His name was CJ, and he's well over 6 feet tall (I think he said 6 foot 5 inches. I'd believe it). Even though Michael Myers is only 5 foot 10 inches in the movies, CJ's presence was certainly unmatched. My girlfriend absolutely loved it - Michael Myers is her favorite horror icon. You can see CJ in the video below:

Review: Dumpster Kat The Musical
Tonight was a first for me in the realm of musical theater. I had the pleasure and honor to be in the audience for a fledgling musical called Dumpster Kat The Musical. It debuted at Mount Ida Preservation Hall, a former church located in Troy, New York. I racked my brain and still do not recall seeing a brand new musical until tonight. It was thrilling to know that someone with a dream persevered and that dream finally came to fruition. It was a magical performance with insightful characters, dynamic music and fantastic community support.
The name behind the Capital District tourism gnome
You may have seen him on the directory boards at Crossgates Mall or the latest ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new business. Herny Bellagmone is a frequent traveler to all the hottest spots in the Capital Region, thanks to his "handler" Sam Meislin.
