Couple killed in triple fatal crash on M-14 identified
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – Two of the three people killed last week in a wrong-way crash on a Washtenaw County freeway have been identified. Brielle Nautica Braddock, 27, and Kerell Dale Burch, 31, died in the wrong-way crash around 7:20 a.m. on eastbound M-14, confirmed Lt. Rene Gonzalez, spokesperson for the Michigan State Police. Both were from Battle Creek.

ANN ARBOR, MI – Two men have pleaded guilty to assault after an Ann Arbor crime spree roughly a year ago. Gabriel Escobar, 19, and Christian Benitez-Reyes, 23, both admitted to an added charge of assault less than murder during a hearing Sept. 19 before Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Arianne Slay, according to court records. ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The U.S. Education Department said Tuesday it confirmed that a Michigan school counselor referred to a Muslim student as a terrorist last fall. The Ann Arbor school district agreed to survey students, families and staff about harassment based on race or natural origin and come up with a plan to address any concerns, the Education Department's Office of Civil Rights said at the close of an investigation.
