Drinking water advisory issued for city of Tabor
(Tabor) -- Residents in the city of Tabor are asked to boil their water until further notice. City officials announced that a drinking water advisory is in effect for the community after a major leak occurred in the Tabor Water Supply distribution system Monday, causing the system to lose pressure. Due to the potential for bacterial contamination, officials are recommending that once service is restored, to boil the water before drinking or cooking or to use an alternative source.
Glenwood basks in post-RAGBRAI glow
(Glenwood) -- Chalk up another RAGBRAI hosting stint for Glenwood. For the eighth time, Glenwood was a starting point for the Des Moines Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. Jennie Davis is executive director of the Mills County Area Chamber of Commerce. Davis tells KMA News inclement weather didn't stop bicyclists from pouring into the community for Saturday's expo.
IPIB dismisses open meeting complaint against Sidney
(Des Moines) -- The Iowa Public Information Board has dismissed an open meetings complaint against the city of Sidney. During its monthly meeting Thursday, the IPIB, by a 7-0 vote, approved the dismissal of the complaint that was filed by Kenneth Brown on May 23rd, alleging the city of Sidney had violated Chapter 21 of Iowa Code. Erica Eckley is the Executive Director of the IPIB. Eckley says the complaint primarily surrounds a city zoning board meeting held on May 1st but was initially published for a different date.
