Take a step in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the community at the 34th Annual Tallahassee AIDS Walk next month.

Big Bend Cares, in partnership with Neighborhood Medical Center and Bond Community Health Center, will hit the Southwood Nature Trail on Thursday, Sept. 12. Each year, the walk continues to grow, drawing hundreds of participants, as the community is invited to show up to celebrate those who have fought the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., the walk covers about a mile, and will feature an evening of fellowship, educational guest speakers, and fun for the whole family.

Serving the cause of community wellness, the event helps Big Bend Cares reach their goal of $100,000, which will become food, transportation, housing, and health care for those in need.

On top of registering yourself, Big Bend Cares encourages student organizations, companies, families, clubs, and faith groups to make a team and register together.

As Big Bend Cares says in its press release: "We walk for the more than 100,000 people living with HIV in Florida. We walk to remember those who no longer can. We walk to remind you that you’re not alone. We walk for a nation. We walk to educate. We walk for change."
