Investigators find that single-vehicle crash led to 'suspicious death' in Mill Street ditch

The Tallahassee Police Department has released new information on the "suspicious death" on Mill Street which occurred early Tuesday morning.

At 7 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Mill Street where a man was found dead in a ditch.

According to a TPD incident alert update, "preliminary findings indicate the victim's injuries are consistent with being involved in in a single-vehicle crash."

TPD's Traffic Homicide Unit have assumed the investigation and say that they are committed to working with the Medical Examiner's Office to determine the circumstances of the incident.

Detectives ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident, but did not speak with an officer on scene, to call 850-891-4200. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS.
