Nature took an unexpected turn Saturday with a brewing thunderstorm, causing the team at Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority to pivot and reschedule the "Tallahassee locals showcase" for the Downtown Concert Series, scheduled for that evening.

Anticipation was high as fans were expecting to see 28-year-old alternative pop singer, Karrie "Kanise" Williams, perform on the Adderley Amphitheater stage at Cascades Park before her move to Atlanta.

Despite the bad weather, she and her band continued to prepare for the show until she received the call letting her know the event was cancelled during rehearsal.

"I found out a few hours before sound check, around like 4 o'clock," Kanise said.

The Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority notified her that the show, also set to feature local rock bands Two Foot Level and Clever Girl as openers, will be rescheduled for September.
