Last we checked in on Florida State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, he was learning the ropes of head coach Mike Norvell's system and growing in the process.

A fifth-year quarterback, Uiagalelei was brought to Tallahassee via the transfer portal with the hopes that Norvell and the Seminoles could take advantage of the experience he gained in three seasons at Clemson and one at Oregon State and finally get all of the potential out of the former five-star quarterback.

Uiagalelei has been a solid college quarterback, but he's never really quite lived up to his superstar potential.

That could change not that he's with FSU, because the latest report from Norvell is extremely positive.

“DJ has been remarkable. I really love the ownership he has in the offense. He’s been very consistent in what he’s doing. And, obviously, the explosiveness that he brings is impressive," Norvell recently told the media (h/t On3 ).

Uiagalelei may have a hard time fully replacing Jordan Travis, who was a Heisman Trophy candidate before he suffered a season-ending injury and is now a backup quarterback for the New York Jets.

With that said, he has a strong arm and is relatively athletic. With Norvell calling the shots and with FSU's talent around him, there's no reason to believe that Uiagalelei can't have his best season yet.

He threw for 2,638 yards and 21 touchdowns with seven interceptions last season for Oregon State while also rushing for 219 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.
