When looking at the Tampa Bay Lightning's roster heading into the 2024-25 season, there are some spots to fight for in their bottom six. Due to this, while they have some solid veterans, the possibility of at least one of their prospects sneaking onto their NHL roster should not be ignored.

One interesting prospect Lightning fans should keep an eye on from here is forward Jack Finley.

Finley, 21, was selected by the Lightning with the 57th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. After posting 12 goals and 21 points in 67 games in his first year with Syracuse Crunch in 2022-23, he took a step forward this past season. In 52 games for the Crunch in 2023-24, he recorded 13 goals and 32 points.

With his improved play at the AHL level, Finley is an intriguing dark-horse candidate for NHL time this season. However, besides increasing his offense in 2023-24, the 6-foot-6 center has been praised for his defensive play and uses his size to break up plays. This element of his game could open the door for him to get some reps in the Lightning's bottom six next season at a minimum.

Overall, Finley is heading in the right direction with his development, and it will be interesting to see what he can do in 2024-25. Given his size and two-way play, he could be an exciting option for Tampa Bay's roster in the near future.
