Poll hints at Lee run for Hillsborough property appraiser

A push-poll — or message testing poll — has popped up locally with questions that include false and scurrilous accusations against Democratic Hillsborough County Property Appraiser Bob Henriquez and suggest voters should instead support Republican former state Sen. Tom Lee.

The online poll comes shortly after a Tallahassee-based Republican political operative who specializes in opposition research requested records concerning travel expenditures by both Henriquez and Democratic Clerk of Courts Cindy Stuart, plus their personnel files and complaints against their office staff members.

Lee said he had no comment on the poll.

“It’s no secret I’ve been considering running for either clerk or property...
