A Tampa man is facing multiple charges after another man was found dead in a ditch earlier this month, deputies announced Monday.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said Dayhan Ruenes Vinet, 32, was arrested Friday in the death of Yalexander Jimenez Felipe, 47, who was found in a ditch near East Chelsea Street and Racheal Falls Drive in Tampa with upper body trauma early on the morning of June 4. Jimenez Felipe was pronounced dead on the scene.

Vinet is facing charges of first-degree murder, robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, dealing in stolen property and filing false information on a pawnbroker form, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Records show he was being held at the Falkenburg Road Jail without bond.

The sheriff’s office did not immediately release further information.

“I hope this arrest can help our victim’s family begin their healing process,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the news release.
