After trading Mikhail Sergachev to Utah, the Tampa Bay Lightning are staying busy.

The Lightning have traded forward Tanner Jeannot to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick and the No. 118 pick of this year's draft.

Jeannot was the Lightning's top trade candidate this offseason, so seeing him get moved is far less surprising than it was with Sergachev. With this trade, the Lightning have freed up an additional $2.665 million of cap space. Thus, after moving Sergachev and Jeannot, they not only have enough cap space to re-sign Steven Stamkos but also add other pieces.

Jeannot, 27, never really found his footing with the Lightning. After posting one goal and three assists in 20 games for them in 2022-23, he followed it up with just 14 points in 55 games in 2023-24. Now, he will look to get things back on track with the Kings.

It is also good that the Lightning were able to snag a second-rounder and No. 118 pick for Jeannot. While they gave up far more to land him from the Nashville Predators, they still got a decent return for the gritty winger.
