TAMPA, Fla. – On Sunday, July 7th, 2024, at approximately 1:15 PM, Tampa Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire on the 2700 block of N. Morgan St.

Firefighters arrived to find two homes involved in the blaze: a single-story residence with heavy smoke and a two-story house with flames visible on its side.

A shed behind the single-story home was also on fire, which investigators believe may have been the origin of the fire and spread to both structures.

Thankfully, firefighters were able to rescue two cats from the two-story home. A thorough search of both residences confirmed no occupants were present.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and brought the situation under control within 15 minutes. There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Tampa Fire Rescue.
