Terrell Owens Reveals How Tom Brady Ignored His Offer to Join Buccaneers in 2021

Terrell Owens, from the moment of his last season back in 2010 with the Cincinnati Bengals, never stopped trying to make his way back onto another NFL team. That remained true just a few seasons ago.

In an interview on The Bubba Dub Show , Owens said that during the 2021 season, he offered his services to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after Antonio Brown unceremoniously left the team in Week 17 of that season.

However, "The GOAT" wasn't having it, apparently.

"Tom Brady ignored me, bro," Owens said. "... At that point in time, it was at the end of the season. I didn't need to play a full season. They just needed somebody to fill some holes with AB leaving at the receiver position."

Owens said he went as far as asking Randy Moss, who played with Brady and the New England Patriots from 2007-2010, to help him in his attempts to reach Brady and the Bucs.

Owens, who would have been 48 years old at the time, proposed the idea of him being used mostly on third downs and inside the red zone.

The Bucs finished 13-4 that season. They beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round but lost to the Los Angeles Rams, the eventual Super Bowl champions, in the Divisional Round.

Owens made multiple attempts to get back in the NFL and stay in the game of football. In 2012, he signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks but was cut before the season. He then appeared in several other leagues, such as the American Flag Football League, Canadian Football League, and Fan Controlled Football.
