Slimmed-down Baker Mayfield talks offseason training, preparation for 2024

We hear it every year from a wide range of NFL players, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is the latest to recite that famous refrain about being the best shape of his career.

Baker looked trim and ready for the upcoming 2024 season as he spoke to the media from his youth football camp at Land O’ Lakes high school just north of the Tampa area (via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times).

Mayfield said he found some new trainers in the offseason, and also remarked that being able to stay in one place throughout the offseason was a huge help.

After bouncing around between three different teams in two years, the former No. 1 overall pick found a home with the Bucs, parlaying a one-year prove-it deal into a three-year extension this offseason.
