USF Bulls quarterback Byrum Brown named to Maxwell Award Watch List

TAMPA (USF) – The University of South Florida Bulls football team quarterback, Byrum Brown, as been named to the Maxwell Award Watch List for 2024. The Maxwell Awared is presented to the College Player of the Year since 1937.

During the 2023 season, Brown set season marks for passing yards (3,292), touchdowns (26), completions (276), and completion percentage (64.6%) and tied the Bulls game record for touchdown passes with five at Memphis in his first season. He also lead the Bulls with 809 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.

Brown and LSU’s Jayden Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, were the only FBS players to register 3,000-plus yards passing and 800-yards rushing.

Brown will lead the 2024 Bulls onto the field for their season opener on August 31st against Bethune-Cookman University in Raymond James Stadium.
