LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. – Tony Calimano, founder of the NSi apparel company in Land O’ Lakes, has brought his vision for the community to life and gathered big-league talent to knock it out of the park.

Opening Monday, NSi Field House offers baseball and softball athletes the opportunity to hone their skills, form new bonds, and train out of the sun.

“Our journey began when we realized there was a need for an indoor location in the heart of Land O’ Lakes for athletes of all ages to come and train,” said Calimano.

“I want this to be considered a baseball boutique for either teams or individuals who come in here. Feel comfortable and have good energy. Get your reps in because, as Vince Lombardi said, ‘the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary,” said Calimano. “There is so much talent in our city, and I want NSi Field House to be their training location.”

NSi Field House offers two batting cages, 45′ and 30′, team rentals, and individual memberships.

Dedicated to helping local youth and preparing them for all facets of life and sport, Calimano graduated from Towson University with a degree in Kinesiology and will be one of the head trainers at the new facility.

Calimano put his team together to bring his dream to reality and offer coaching that comes with experience, insight, and team spirit.

Former Detroit Tigers pitcher Greg Keagle and Kyle Marks, a coach with over 15 years of baseball and softball coaching experience, joined Calimano in the new offering for the community.

“When you have an opportunity to be part of something like this, I mean, this is where the true magic happens,” said Keagle. “Every great player that you watch on TV, every great player was fortunate enough to play against, will tell you that it started when they were youth when they were kids playing and the love of the game.”

Keagle will be offering his experience and hosting pitching clinics at NSi Field House.

After retiring from the MLB, Keagle coached for the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Tigers. In 2010, he and Rob Grow, another RIT coach, started a youth baseball organization called the Grow2Pro Baseball Group. Additionally, Keagle has provided color commentary for live television broadcasts of the Rochester Red Wings in Rochester, New York.

    Coach Kyle Marks

Kyle Marks is a local hitting coach in the Land O’ Lakes area with 15 years of private-hitting experience and is the current fastpitch coach for the Lutz Lightning as well as a travel baseball coach.

Kyle will be offering individual and group hitting lessons.

“I grew up being able to hit indoors at a massive facility, and hitting outside in Florida is hard with the sun beating down on you,” said Marks. “I can help more local athletes with a roof over our heads.”

“We want to be able to offer hitting lessons for our community youth without breaking the bank,” Marks added. “I’m trying to help our athletes and make hitting lessons affordable for families at the same time.”

Marks added that his daughter’s softball team, the Lutz Lightning, will be training at the facility and looks forward to meeting new local athletes and teams to fine-tune their hitting skills.

“Everyone is excited that we have this facility and offering here in Land O’ Lakes,” said Marks.
