Branson Boom historical exhibit opens at Meadows Theatre
Branson’s Song of Hope Historical Society has opened an exhibition designed to give Branson visitors an idea of what the city was like during the “boom”, which started in the 1990s, and made the city one of the nation’s biggest tourism destinations at a new location.

Details: Contractor crews to turn on new signals and open new Continuous Flow Intersection at U.S. Route 160 and Christian County Route CC in Nixa. A Continuous Flow Intersection has traffic turning left placed to the left of oncoming traffic, opposite where it is normally. This removes the conflict between on-coming traffic and traffic turning left. Vehicles turning left access the lane a few hundred feet in front of the intersection. MODOT Meeting to Discuss Near Roundabout Near Reeds Spring
A meeting to discuss and upcoming Highway Project takes place next week. According to a release from the Missouri Department of Transportation, the $2.1 million project is expected to start later this year and would construct a roundabout at the intersection of Highways 13, 160, 248, and Dogwood Tree Road near Reeds Spring Jct. MODOT says nearly 12,000 vehicles use that intersection on a daily basis. MODAT also states in the release that new roundabout will help with safety and traffic flow for motorists.

Two men with roots in the community are vying for the District 138 state House seat, a district that covers part of Christian County and Stone County. Rep. Brad Hudson, Republican, has served the area in the Missouri legislature since 2018. Tom Franiak, an area businessman, and Burt Whaley, a veteran and former educator, are both running as Republicans in the Aug. 6 primary election.
