Softball: Hoboken Advances Past North Arlington, 7-6, in State Tournament

HOBOKEN, NJ -- The Hoboken softball team advanced in the first round of the Section 2, Group 1 state tournament with a 7-6 victory over North Arlington on Wednesday.

Mischa Mercado went 2-for-3 with one run batted in and Isabella Pisano drove in two runs for Hoboken (11-14), which scored two runs in the sixth inning to take a 7-4 lead.

Pisano was the winning pitcher. She struck out six batters and walked three in seven innings.

Hoboken, the No. 8 seed, will visit top-seeded Weehawken in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
